We’ve been baking the world a better place since 1901.

Plarre Foods is a family owned and operated business with a long & proud baking history dating back to Europe in the 19th century. The Plarre’s relocated to Australia over 120 years ago and for well over a century our family bakery has been creating products that people fall in love with.

Our passion is to make people smile and we delight in serving up little moments of joy for millions of Australian families each year.

As our own family grows, we continue to challenge this generation of skilled artisans to produce the highest quality of product we can, using the best ingredients Australia has to offer.

Our History

Our story begins in 19th century Germany when Otto Plarre falls in love with the art of baking and travels extensively to develop his skills before setting off for a new life in Australia. In the early 1900s he starts his very own bakery in Moonee Ponds, Victoria and its success lays the foundation for the Plarre Foods Group of today where the 4th generation of the Plarre family remain as custodians.

Bakeries have always played an important role at the heart of the community and Plarre Foods are committed to continuing that tradition. For decades we have proudly supported both local and national charities whether that’s through our long standing relationship with the Salvation Army, the recent support of RSPCA Victoria or the local good causes our stores support each and every week. Award Winning

Our cakes are not the only highly decorated thing around here! Plarre Foods Group is the proud recipient of hundreds of awards for our food over the last century. From our pies to our hot cross buns, our cake decorators, sausage rolls, gluten free pies and cakes have all picked up prizes. We’re even the current holder of Australia’s best traditional and best gourmet pastie!
